Other companies involved: Ikea, Greenberg Farrow, Acies, Geothermal Systems of Colorado, LLC
The Project at a Glance: Working closely with the owner, architectural and engineering teams, Geo-Xergy developed a holistic approach to saving energy for a 415,000 square foot IKEA store in Colorado. This method ensured the need for a smaller ground heat exchanger, resulting in savings for the client.
Features & Innovations:
- Geothermal heating and cooling with vertical ground heat exchanger under the building
- Controlled ventilation system
- Ice storage tanks – to reduce equipment requirements and maximize electrical capacity
- Heat dissipation / snow melt – to eliminate the need for a cooling tower for the system
- High-efficiency lighting
- White roof
